Interior Design Website Inquiry Checklist

A practical review for an independent residential design studio. Use it to find friction in the journey from portfolio to project conversation.

  1. Can a visitor identify your services, service area and suitable project types from the first screen?
  2. Does each portfolio project explain the brief, your role and the scope, using images you have permission to publish?
  3. Is there a visible next step near the work, with a clear explanation of what happens after an inquiry?
  4. Does the form ask for useful fit details: location, project type, timing and an appropriate budget range?
  5. Are required fields labelled, accessible and usable on a small phone screen?
  6. Does a controlled test reach your intended inbox or lead register? Does an unsuccessful submission show an error and preserve the visitor's text?
  7. Does the visitor receive an honest confirmation with the next step, rather than a promise you cannot keep?
  8. Does one named person own responses, with a simple follow-up process and register?
  9. Can you distinguish submitted inquiries, suitable inquiries and held consultations, with dates?
  10. Are your claims, testimonials and project permissions documented? Are results described without promising future leads?

Record the current state, one reproducible observation and one improvement for each item. Start with the most consequential issue; avoid changing everything at once.
